My recent multi-day charter aboard Santana Sail’s exquisite 45' Leopard Catamaran, Mi Vida, was nothing short of extraordinary – a seamless blend of sophisticated luxury and genuine, off-the-beaten-path adventure tailored for the discerning traveler. Stepping aboard Mi Vida is to step into a world of tranquility and comfort. Imagine waking to the gentle, rhythmic sway of the turquoise Pacific Ocean in your beautifully appointed, private double cabin on Mi Vida, thoughtfully equipped with ample storage and the convenience of en-suite bathrooms featuring private showers. The catamaran's generous size comfortably accommodates groups without ever feeling congested, offering numerous idyllic spots to relax and admire the seemingly endless panoramic vistas. My personal sanctuary quickly became the expansive bow trampoline on Mi Vida, where I would lie face down, my head gently suspended above the clear waters, mesmerized by pods of playful dolphins. What truly elevates the Santana Sail experience on Mi Vida, beyond the exceptional vessel itself, is the outstanding dedication and warmth of its crew. Captain Sam is more than just a skilled sailor; he is a seasoned mariner with a youthful enthusiasm for the sea and an encyclopedic knowledge of the Nicaraguan coastline. His calm and confident demeanor, coupled with his impressive expertise as a certified master scuba diver, immediately instills a sense of complete trust and relaxation. First mate Yader embodies the very essence of Nicaraguan hospitality – his infectious enthusiasm, warm smile, and genuine desire to ensure every guest has an unforgettable experience strike the perfect balance between attentive, personalized service and allowing for cherished moments of undisturbed tranquility. Their obvious and deep-rooted passion for their country is truly infectious, making you feel like a privileged guest invited to uncover its most treasured secrets aboard Mi Vida. The unparalleled beauty of chartering Mi Vida lies in the extraordinary freedom it affords. We were empowered to chart our own course, to drop anchor at any number of secluded, postcard-perfect beaches and pristine, uninhabited islands, effectively creating our own private paradise for the day or overnight. The boat’s fully equipped modern kitchen, complete with a top-of-the-line grill, spacious refrigerator, and deep freezer, made bespoke culinary experiences an absolute delight. One unforgettable afternoon, the exhilarating thrill of reeling in a magnificent 2.5-foot yellowfin tuna was swiftly followed by the freshest, most exquisite sashimi right on Mi Vida’s expansive deck – an impromptu, truly memorable culinary masterpiece enjoyed mere moments after the catch. That evening, the remainder of our prized tuna was transformed into perfectly grilled, succulent tuna steaks, savored under a breathtaking canopy of a million stars as Mi Vida gently swayed to the soothing rhythm of the ocean. Santana Sail caters to every inclination, whether your passions lie in exploring the vibrant underwater ecosystems while snorkeling through kaleidoscopic coral reefs, venturing into the Pacific through scuba diving excursions led by a master, fishing in the rich Nicaraguan waters, or simply unwinding in absolute serenity on a secluded, sun-drenched shore. And as each glorious day gracefully transitions into evening, prepare to witness sunsets over the dramatic Nicaraguan coastline that are nothing short of breathtaking when viewed from the privileged vantage point of Mi Vida’s deck. Santana Sail represents a rare opportunity to discover the largely untouched natural beauty of Nicaragua with an exceptional level of refined comfort, personalized attention, and genuine warmth that is exceedingly rare to find. While I wholeheartedly intend to continue my annual exploration of the wonders that Nicaragua has to offer, I can unequivocally say that any future trip will absolutely, without question, include at least a few cherished days of blissful escape and unparalleled luxury aboard the remarkable Mi Vida.Posted on Jennifer DrautTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our full-day charter with Santana Sail was exceptional. This is our family’s third trip to Nicaragua, and Santana Sail is going to be a staple of all our future stays. * * * * 1. First, the catamaran itself exceeded expectations. There were different nooks where we could split off into groups or have some alone time with a book as we glided over the waves. There were plenty of places to sit in the shade, and no shortage of spots to soak up the sun. And I was not expecting a fully appointed kitchen, let alone an outdoor grill on the back deck... My husband loved that :) 2. The crew, too, were wonderful. Sam and Yader were professional, warm, and knowledgeable. They took care of everything and made the whole experience truly luxury. 3. The landscapes of Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast speak for themselves, but it was a different thing to experience them from the water, and we saw so much wildlife! Imagine soaring over the water on the net at the front of the catamaran, sea cliffs to your left, and a pod of spotted dolphins starts swimming right under and in front of you, like they were pulling us in a chariot! Dolphins seem to love swimming with the catamaran, as this happened twice…they would swim right in front of us and stick with us for minutes at a time. We all laid down on our stomachs, hanging our heads over the front of the boat—and yes, there was room enough for all of us on the net!—and the dolphins were just a couple of feet below our faces. I’ll never forget it. (Sam and Yader also told us that it’s not uncommon to spot whales breaching during whale-watching season.) We saw a wealth of magnificent frigatebirds, too. I want to return during their mating season (December–April) so I can see them with their throats puffed out red. At one point, we all jumped off the boat for a swim, and a brown booby flew about 6 feet over my head. This would be a great excursion for birdwatchers. Finally, we saw a sea turtle! I’ve seen their nests at Rancho Santana in Tola, so it was a thrill seeing an adult out at sea! We wouldn’t have seen it if Captain Sam hadn’t spotted it for us; in addition to manning the helm, he always had his eye out for wildlife to show us. 4. Lastly, the experiences incorporated into the charter were delightful. The most exhilarating part for me was just being on the water. There’s nothing like that feeling when the catamaran catches the wind—you feel like a pelican flying just over the surface. But we also anchored at a pristine private beach and had so much fun feeling like millionaires on our own private island. There wasn’t another tourist anywhere. Beautiful. And I wasn’t expecting getting to ride on a dinghy! I’ve never done that before, and I giggled the whole time as we bounced over the ocean exploring the coastline. Our group was all adults, but if you’re coming with kids, I think kids in particular would just love this! My husband also loved the opportunity to try his hand at deep sea fishing. They had a fishing line in the water as we sailed, and when Yader heard it catch, he called my husband and taught him how to reel it in! Then, while we went back to our cocktails on the net, Yader cut it up and served us the most delicious, freshest imaginable tuna sashimi. 5. A word about the weather. We took a risk booking this during the rainy season, but we’re so glad we did. We had plenty of sun on the day we chose, but when rain did break out, the dining table in the spacious enclosed kitchen cabin had more than enough room for our group of four to sit, chat, and enjoy just the feeling of being out at sea. My husband brought a pack of Uno cards, so we sat around the table with the beers and fresh fruit that Santana Sail provided and enjoyed a game. * * * * All in all, this was a luxurious, joyful boat charter, and Santana Sail has given us yet another reason to keep returning to this part of the world that we love so much. If you’re visiting the Emerald Coast of Nicaragua, I highly recommend treating yourself to a full-day catamaran charter with Santana Sail.Posted on Adrian RenartTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Best sailing trip! My family and I have been sailing in Nicaragua before and we loved it. We saw that there was this new sailboat and it did not disappoint: The boat itself was impressive and the service was even better. My family and I are still talking about what an unforgettable experience this has been. Friendly and attentive service with the best guacamole, fresh fruit, and drinks. What really made the trip was Captain Sam and his first mate, Yader. They welcomed us as soon as we were on board and gave us a briefing of the voyage. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness, professionalism, and luxury service they provided. We will definitely be back!!!
